A lively town meeting at Williams Bros. Paint Shop discussed forming a local organization to attract factories to Odon and surrounding areas. G O Henderson chaired. B A Taman was secretary. committee of five planned a permanent group to pursue industrial prospects including broom, canning, and beet sugar facilities.
The Chatter and Stich club held an indoor picnic at Mrs. Sallie Garten's home Friday evening. After social time a picnic style meal was served. Members include Pearl Myers Nelle Laughlin Bertha Doulson Mabel Chinn Hazel Crooke Jiela Crooke Madge Haestor Carrie Cooper Bradie York Roberta Correll Letha O'Dell and Bessie Garten. Guests were Mrs Crete Billey of Bloomington and Mrs F C Arnold of Tacoma Washington.
The Rev. C. M. Day of St. Frances ville Isis. has been chosen to succeed Rev. W. B. Morris at the Christian church here. Rev. Day will relocate to Odon in the near future after assuming duties.
A brief notice advertises remaining white rock pallets for sale by Mrs. J. Ackerman in West Odon with reasonable prices.
A large temperance meeting at the Christian church in Stanlay formed the Gori Citizens League with Rev. Lewis as president and J. VY. Gillaspie as secretary. Officers include Aaron Jollitt as treasurer and an advisory board of Rev. Tiewis J.OW. Gillaspie A. A. Lane and Goa. Henderson. Lawyer Laughlin was authorized to seek a legislative joint resolution for Indiana voters to decide on a constitutional amendment banning the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages.
Robbers robbed the Washington post office of money and stamps totaling 16 dollars on Sunday. The B and O S W ticket office was also entered but nothing of value was taken. No crews were found.
