Mrs Mary Kelsey Dead In Raglsville Community

Mrs Mary Catherine Kelsey died at home three and a half miles southwest of Raglsville after a brief illness caused by heart trouble. Born February 6 1850 in Orange County she was 73. She is survived by husband Daniel and five children Mrs Fred Winklepleck Mrs Len Walter Mrs Irvin Smiley Will C and Earl all in the county. Funeral at U B church Raglsville with Rev Edwin Shake conducting burial in Raglsville cemetery.

Heavy cold wave boosts local coal demand and farm sales rise

The week saw higher coal deliveries as Lardéer mines ran intermittently and White River traffic resumes for coal barges. Farm sales hold steady with hogs cattle and machinery selling well. prices remain high though horses and some mules fetch lower sums. A fox and wolf drive starts tomorrow with proceeds to the county hospital fund.

Rex Ingram’s million dollar film The Four Horsemen opens at the Star Theater next Wednesday and Thursday. Yale honors Ingram with a Bachelor of Fine Arts for producing the picture. Reserved seats go on sale tomorrow at Odon Drug Co. with 30 and 40 cent prices, show starts 7 30 each night.

Passes Away at 83 Aged Mrs Hannach Fortner

Mrs Hannach Fortner wife of William Fortner longtime Martin county resident died last Friday at the home north of Burns City from general debility aged 83. Survived by husband and three daughters. Funeral at Burns City Christian church led by Rev Milton Herron. Burial in Burns City cemetery.
