J W Adams a 40 year old structural iron worker was shot and killed during a daytime raid on the Patrick Cahill saloon in Washington Indiana. Two robbers escaped with cash after Adams tried to disarm one assailant. the younger bandit fled after another shot but the older was later found along the Washington Plainville road with his throat cut.
