Lowry Cooper and sons will build a new concrete structure on the old frame garage site on Spring street. The 400 foot building will enclose the existing shop to house increased machine work and storage. Occupancy of the present garage will continue until the new building nears completion.
Louis Baenenal, Jr. age forty, died early Sunday near the Southeastern railroad Black Creek switch. His body was found by train 109 crew and brought to town. He was unmarried, worked at Vaendale mine, and had lived locally nine years. He leaves a father and mother, two brothers in Bicknell, and two married sisters in Ails Blocks.
The Odon Alumni Association planted an elm on the school grounds Monday evening in tribute to the school. The tree came from J. E. Garten’s farm. Inclement weather forced cancellation of the program, though several alumni attended the ceremony.
Samuel B Boyd fifty eight longtime educator and editor of the Washington Deosr died at Davies county hospital following an operation for a chronic intestinal disorder. He previously served as county superintendent of schools and later entered newspapers. Funeral services were held at St Johns Episcopal church with Odd Fellows to conduct the rites. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The steam heating plant for the new Christian Church arrived this week and will be installed by factory experts. Radiators will be enameled to match the building’s color scheme as a large crew completes rolling doors stairways and other details. The project progresses and should finish well before the dedication date.
Information shows J. W. Jempson and John Barbarette of Tyre Haute bought 1200 acres near Trinity Springs to build a Mammouth hotel after Baden or Brenn Lith on a hill east of the springs. Trinity residents anticipate a major health resort.
The Timme Sisters gave a second number at the M. EF. Church Saturday night to a fair sized audience. The program included musical numbers drawings and readings. The sisters arrived late due to missing the 8 o'clock train. Toney journeyed to Chicago afterward.
Deputy Gibson heads to Indianapolis then Springfield to obtain requisition papers for Price M Youell and John D Clayton, linked to a disputed Elnora land swap. Gus Meisheimer claims he traded a farm and mills for land but later found his title wrongfully assigned, with possible court action in Davie County. A separate warrant seeks Gorge Wendt on a Chicago holdup indictment.

Building boom in Odon over six months includes a $15 000 Christian Church and a new office building for Dr E Bowman. Construction of the Odon Fertilizer Co plant proceeds, plus a new sheds and garage for the Odon Grouse Co. All materials supplied by W R Neeremer Lumber Co.
A surprise party was held at Laurene Trowbridge home Monday evening December 11 to celebrate her sixteenth birthday. Sophomore class members and friends attended and presented gifts. Refreshments followed as guests wished her many future birthdays.
Logs are being shipped from this place. Swayze traveled to Blanket Stip on business. Angus Osborn is listed as sick. Mrs Anna Sterni visited Mrs Lawry Sari¢ne Church at Mt Zion. Large crowds attended events last week. Sallie Keteheon and Chester were in Washington last week. Grandma Walis, formerly of Oden, moved into a new home she has built nearby.
Mrs Alfred Osborn browses Caen anuday shopping. Enid Gore prepares Xmas program for primary room and a tree on the date. The shop lists watches, chains, sets, bracelets, pins, clocks, Bibles, knives, novelties, and Christmas cards as presents. Come in and view them.
Earl Seneff co owner Miss Delphia West of Odon Indiana took part in a Cincinnati College of Music song recital Saturday noon. West performed Rock of Ages by Barnes and earned praise for trained tone and confident execution. The recital highlighted that many prominent artists have trained at the college.
The Odon Drug Co offers fresh Salted Pranuts at 10c per pound aimed at benefiting school teachers and churches for their Christmas treat.
Report notes 151 women elected in the county officer race in Kansas reducing female officeholders to 126. many counties saw losses with 48 superintendents of instruction 26 register of deeds and 25 clerks among those ejected. Louis Tapp of Bicknell moved to his city property. Oyster supper by Loyal Sons class at Christian Church deemed enjoyable and financially successful.
Mr and Mrs Dan Sargent of this city travel to Cale on Tuesday to reside. Mr Sargent will run his store there, previously managed by his son Geo Sargent. He has been named superintendent of the Trinity Springs tract and will assume duty at once.

J A Maryfield buys an interest with Lough Miler real estate in Petersburg and plans to move there soon. He recently relocated to the Smiley property in this city about three weeks ago.
Earl Seneff completed purchase of the Empire Restaurant on East Main St this week. Geo Wildman, who ran the business last summer, will stay briefly while Seneff takes charge. Wildman is undecided about future plans.

A light engine on the C. T. H. and SE railroad jumped the track between this city and Elnora Sunday afternoon causing a several hour delay. The engineer and fireman escaped injury. The wrecking crew set the engine upright after it turned over off the rails. Trains ran on normal schedule by Monday noon.
