Two Farmers Drowned Fishing at Stoner Bed River
Two well known farmers Harve Riggins and Charles Stoner drowned Saturday afternoon while fishing at the Stoner Bed old river bed west of the city. A nearby boat capsized during a rescue attempt leaving Riggins found dead and Stoner lost beneath the water. Coroner’s inquest held. Riggins funeral at Baslesville Baptist Church and Stoner burial at Plainville Cemetery.

Mrs. Aminda Atchley Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Aminda Atchley wife of John Atchley died at home southeast of the city after a long period of old age and debility. Born April 9 1337 she was over eighty. She joined the Baptist Church and remained faithful. She leaves a husband one son three daughters twenty grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral at Old Salem church Tuesday with Rev. M. P. Herron officiating. burial at the Old Salem cemetery.
