A Sunday noon blaze in east Adon destroyed the home of George Correll. Sparks from a kitchen chimney likely started it, burning most clothing and carpets while neighbors saved some furniture. Mrs Correll kept $120 but none was saved. Insurance on the house totals $900. Correll plans to rebuild. Ray Wallick’s nearby home escaped major damage. Miss Roberta Correll mourns the loss of her high school diploma and commencement gifts.

Born in Ohio he taught in Daviess County and Washington city schools and later led Madison and Greensburg districts before serving as state superintendent of public instruction and deputy in the bureau of statistics. Burial was in Indianapolis after a funeral there.
