Daviess County Farmers Organize for a 200000 Fund

Farmers from across the county meet in Washington to form a statewide fund of 200000 to support cooperative action and advance farming, with Indiana Federation of Farmers Associations leader Lewis Taylor outlining plans. Farmers to organize a Madison township association Saturday

Farmers of Madison township meet at the Boy Scout Hall Saturday at 2 30 PM to organize a branch of the Federation of Farmers Associations. D D Ball county agent will lead the discussion on benefits for farmers. A poultry culling demonstration follows at 12 30 PM at John Mumaw's North Elm Street home.

Chautauqua Opens With Hugh Anderson Quintette

The Chautauqua week starts this afternoon at 2 30 with the Hugh Anderson Quintette as the opening concert. Jeanette Kling will perform "The Country Cousin" after the night prelude. Tickets are available from committee members and season passes are recommended.

Steele Township Woman Rebecca Laughlin Kail Dies at 63

Rebecca Ledgerwood Kail, known in the community as Mrs. Rebecca Laughlin Kail, died at her Plainville home last Saturday from a complication of diseases marked by tumor growths. Born in the same community, she lived there, married Alonzo Laughlin, then Reason Kail, who survives her, and leaves ten children, seven living. Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Church Sunday at 11:30 with Rev Carmichael, burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
