Robert Day Dies Local Electric Shop Owner
Robert J Day a well known Oden citizen and owner of Day s Electric Shop died at his west Oden home last Friday evening from a complication of diseases He was born September 29 1890 in Wisconsin and was 32 at his death He married Sleta Grove on March 2 1928 and started the shop later He leaves his wife three brothers and two sisters and a host of friends Funeral services were held at his residence Monday afternoon with Rev Edwin Shake and burial followed at Walnut Hill

The first annual gathering of Christian churches of Daviess County at Eastside Park drew more than 1,500 people for Bible school with 955 attendees and 300-plus in the men’s class. Antioch led outside-delegation attendance with 148, Plainville 125. Roy Quilliams to serve as president next year.

Thieves Loot El Nora Store In Major Robbery
Thieves hit the Clothing and Shoe Store of Arnold Irwin in El Nora last Friday night, stealing more than 2500 dollars of merchandise chiefly men suits. About 100 suits in sizes 33 to 44 disappeared after forcing a rear window and entering through a door left ajar. Two strangers in a Dodge touring car were seen nearby between midnight and dawn. a 100 reward is offered for the arrest and conviction of the culprits.
