Lew Jacobs of this city suffered a stroke of paralysis last Saturday night while visiting his daughter Mrs. Dan Dunham in Indianapolis. At eighty years old his condition is critical with the entire right side paralyzed.

Town to hoist 104 foot flag in Odon Saturday
A large gathering is planned in Odon to raise a 104 foot wool flag on a seven foot deep pole. Indiana Power and Water Co will install an electric light at the summit for visibility. A 2:30 pm program features the Band Boy Scouts schoolchildren and Judge M S Hastings of Washington delivering the keynote address.

Pole raising honored by Tarvin farms support
Special credit is given to Lee Tarvin a public spirited farmer north of town for supplying the pole trees at no charge. Tarvin also helped cut the trees load timbers with his team and even diverted his sons from farm work to assist, a gesture the community lauds.

Van Buren Pioneer Dead After Long Illness
Marka Larper a pioneer of Van Buren township died at home Sunday evening at six due to old age and complications. He was eighty and a well known resident, living in Van Buren township most of his life. Funeral services were held at his house with Rev. G. P. C. of the city in charge and burial occurred in Kilsore cemetery. He is survived by children William John Harper in Van Buren, Mrs Alinty in Madison, Mr Reynolds in Steele, Enola Sinclair in Marti lle, and two brothers and two sisters.
