Farley Boat Works Revived to Build Tarpon Skiffs in Port Aransas
Port Aransas preserves a century of Farley boat making as volunteers at the Port Aransas Museum recreate 16 and 22 foot tarpon boats. The project aims to reproduce the Farley family style with about 1000 dollars and 120 hours of labor per vessel. Pat Farley recalls the family origin and its role in the island’s fishing heritage while museums seek to sustain tourism through this heritage craft.
