Italian-born Ventolini named regional dean in West Texas
New regional dean for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine at the Permian Basin is Gary Ventolini. A native of Feltre Italy he has lived in France Colombia and several U.S. cities. He moved to Odessa for the post and is in his fourth week. Ventolini replaces John Jennings who left to join two ACOG committees. He earned degrees in France and Italy and worked in Colombia and various U.S. hospitals before arriving in West Texas. He and his wife Doris 34 years hope to expand teaching Spanish. He collects keys and wrote Art within the Keys of the Renaissance. A selection committee including local hospital leaders recommended him from 18 to 20 candidates.
