Officers cleared in Odessa shooting case
Grand jury found no wrongdoing by Odessa police officers Kevin Chance and John Sikes in the June 6 shooting of Gregory Heath Stoneman after he allegedly pointed a shotgun at officers and fired. Stoneman faced four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and remained jailed on two counts as of Monday.

Welcome home naval petty officer returns to Midland
U S Navy Petty Officer Third Class Raymundo Cole Lopez arrives at Midland International Airport at 10:30 p m Friday for leave from Goose Creek South Carolina where he trains in the Nuclear Power program. Lopez is a 2011 Midland Lee High School graduate and a JROTC officer. Teen murder case delayed again in Walker Lumpkin death
The trial of a 14 year old Ector County boy charged with murder in Walker Lumpkin's death has been reset to August 7 due to absent doctors. Prosecution led by Feliz Abalos will take over from Alison Burton, with court noting July juries unavailable. The death was caused by blunt force trauma after surgery in Lubbock.
