Former Guardsman arrested after bombs found at base
A 35 year old Milwaukee pilot and ex National Guardsman Milan S Mitiich was arrested on suspicion of breaking into an Air National Guard base with two pipe bombs in a shopping bag and graffiti reading Free Kosovo on a satellite dish. The bombs did not explode and authorities pursue unclear motives. Mitich flew UH60 helicopters and served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard until 1 November. He faced federal court proceedings in Milwaukee. He told police the incident was a joke and denied ties to foreign governments. Investigators canvassed Serbian and Albanian communities to identify the intruder.
