Ector grand jury returns 17 indictments in multiple cases
Ector County grand jury charged Eliseo Ornelas Franco with deadly assault on a peace officer and aggravated assault on a peace officer after a Dec 11 shooting of Deputy Gary Lewis and an attack on Lt. Jerry Davis. Bond totals 140000. Franco also faced burglary indictments. Frederick Douglas Thomas faced aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon for the Aug 27 1986 Western Food Store robbery with bond 15000. four related aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon counts each carry 15000. Rodney Darnell Hendrix indicted once for the Aug 14 Depot Pizza and Deli robbery with bond 15000. Hendrix and Calhoun posted bonds and were released.
