95 years of keeping the faith at Greater St. John's
Greater St. John's Baptist Church at 212 S. Muskingum Ave celebrated its 55th anniversary with preaching and singing. Rev. L H Hall has led since 1940, and the church is noted as Odessa’s first Black church, with its ministry leading to the establishment of Douglas Elementary, the first school for Black students.
