Susie Skager learned CPR by phone during a Christmas night accident. Her son Phillip Scott Skager, six, was critically injured by barber scissors stabbing his chest and required emergency surgery. Dispatcher Joel Koford guided Skager through CPR for 15 to 20 minutes until responders arrived. The boy, called Scooter, recovered with no brain damage and was later asking about school. Authorities praised the quick actions and urged CPR training for parents to save time before EMS arrives.
