John Lux, 21, son of former Mayor Lay, was severely injured during a Park Oval football game. Doctors expect full recovery, with X rays to confirm whether neck injury is a fracture or dislocation. He remained comfortable, despite neck soreness, and will stay in bed several weeks.
Mrs Selden S Davis of Highfield Lane watched several persons destroy a hydrangea bush in her yard last Saturday night. She initially planned to notify police but later spoke to The Sun to warn the vandals they were seen.
The Craftsmen founded by Natley Masons will host a December 9 reception and dance under Masonic auspices. Emil C. Miller chairs the committee with Edward Rasmussen Caldwell and others. all Masons or Nutley Lodge members are invited, invitations via committee members.
The Board of Education on Tuesday night rejected abolishing the ten minute classroom visit rule and denied requests from the Woman's Public School Auxiliary to permit rear seating for visitors.
Miss Bertha Blum daughter of Mayor Blum wed Abram S. Ginsburg of Passaic in Town Hall rooms with Mayor’s daughter Mrs. William Longfelder and Town Clerk Oscar Kirkeby as witnesses. The couple will live at 179 Highfield Lane. Ginsburg, born in Egypt, came from Russia via Riga and is a New York University civil engineer and architect with offices at 225 Main Avenue Passaic.
Mr and Mrs Henry S Dale of Elm Place announce the engagement of their daughter Margaret Hull Dale to Chester Austin Willets son of Mr and Mrs Charles A Willets of Sanford Avenue Flushing Willets is Yale graduate No wedding date set at this time
Benefit for the Exchange for the Woman's Aid will be held Friday afternoon December 10 at 2 30 in the rooms at Passaic avenue and Chestnut street. Miss Serine Kirkeby has charge of ticket distribution.
Rev Milton Stauffer will come down from Buffalo to occupy the pulpit of the Reformed Church tomorrow. Rev Harold Schenck of New Brunswick was expected to preach but could not come.
Franz A Vogt father of Emil P Vogt of this town died Tuesday in Brooklyn. Funeral services were held Thursday night.
The seventh annual Field Club golf dinner featured a long evening of songs sketches and vaudeville acts after a tournament. Judges and players toasted wins with cups awarded to Steete Goodrich Hatch Rothwell Sergeants Michael Libby and Libby among others.
A Ford veered on a foggy Washington avenue Centre street turn and toppled, pinning four occupants. S. P. McDonough, Raymond Sebal, William Van Horn, and Thomas Smith, all from Paterson, suffered injuries. Van Horn had a badly gashed head, Sebal a leg cut, others minor. They were treated by Dr. Jackson and later rode home on a trolley. The car was towed from the scene in a wrecked state.
The Thanksgiving pageant at Park School drew wide applause as eight classes and about two hundred pupils performed. Pupils dressed in Puritan-style outfits they made themselves, with each teacher developing dialogue for her grade. A notable feature was Grade 7’s Indian dance.
Joseph Vaegner, barber of the Masonic Hall, was held for trial under $1,000 bail by the Recorder Post on Tuesday after the Grand Jury's action. Edos Koobe of High Street brought the charges, and the girl reiterated her stories from the hearing last week.
The Nutley Private School held a Thanksgiving program with songs and recitations by the primary department and two short plays The Courtship of Miles Standish and The First Crop of Apples by older pupils. Pupils donated fruits vegetables preserves and canned goods to a deserving family.
About two hundred fifty attended a Saturday musicale at Masonic Hall directed by Robert Grossman. Forty four pupils performed mandolin violin piano and vocal solos then professionals including Lydia Wiemann Louise White Harold Milward and Bernard Duffy contributed. Informal dancing followed.
Miss Louise Chandler of High street acted as hostess Sunday night hosting a supper for several out-of-town guests. The dining room featured camp style decor and guests included Nora and Mary Coey, James Coey, James Vanderboef of Newark, Helena Woods and Arthur Buzhy of Montclair, Walter Dickinson of New York, Robert Sutcliffe of Rutherford, Ann Langdon, Marjorie Orlow, and Clarence and Edgert Kandler of Nutley.
The post office is moving to a new home on Franklin Avenue within a week or two. The building will house offices an assembly hall and will include spaces leased to a musician studio and dance classes and to dentists and an architect. Completion will allow quick transfer of books records and light material with furniture already in place.
Mr and Mrs Harry K Holt of Hawthorne celebrate the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Wainright Holt of Port Jervis, married Thanksgiving 1865. Attending were their sons Wainright and Edwin, grandchildren Jessie C Reginald Gladys and others, with white and old color scheme and chrysanthemum decorations.
The South River CN. J. notes a trust company organized by William M Weiant of this town several months ago. Its latest statement shows resources of 301 032 70 with capital stock 100 000 surplus 16 000 and undivided profits 5 001 70.
Mr and Mrs John MacFarland of 372 Franklin avenue hosted a Thanksgiving reunion. Attendees included their daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs James D Adams of Jersey City and their sons Lloyd and Warren Adams. Also present were Mrs MacFarland's sister and brother in law Mr and Mrs William J Taers and Russell Taers of Peterson. The home was decorated with wreaths and reminiscences.
Nutley officials appointed Mrs Roberta Diebitsch wife of Emil Diebitsch president of the Board of Trade to the Board of Library Trustees filling the vacancy caused by George A Bills refusal to serve another term. Mayor Blum recommended the appointment and Diebitsch has long been active in local women s groups and library work.
Carmine Valeno, driver of a Tony Turella wagon, was knocked to the street when a runaway horse dashed between a team and struck him. He suffered cuts and bruises and was treated by a physician. The horse was injured. owner of the horse remained unidentified. The wagon attached to a plumber’s wagon without a name is at Reilly’s stable on Passaic Avenue.
A Progressive Dinner started at J. B. Hayden’s Elmpace home and ended at the Misses Marjorie and Myre Longfelder’s residence. Attendees included Gertrude Low Marjorie Hayden Katherine Low Mabel Lindstrom Addie Carter Helen Rothwell Rath Libby Alexander Robertson Philip Young Thurston Woodford William Livermore Robert P Laffin Wilfred Lindstrom William Montague Clark Carter Marc Michael Bronson Philhower Sheridan Knowles and Russell Elliot.

Mr and Mrs Fred Finch entertained guests at a bridge party last night at their Beech Street home. Attending were Miss Servne and Miss Clara Kirkeby, Clarence Ludiam of Netley, Miss Jeanette Crowall and Arthur Crowell of Rahway, and Bagens Ludiam of Mineola.
A Nutleft chamelle bag was found missing on Brookfield avenue, with the owner identified as Claman. Authorities note the item was not recovered and inquiries are ongoing.
