Mr and Mrs William H Clements marked their twenty fifth anniversary with a reception for about 100 friends at 106 Hillside Avenue Roseland The Rev Alexander Patton officiated and guests included relatives from Roseland Newark East Orange Montclair and Essex Fells Solos by S H Williams with Phylis Stanley Irene Atword and Frank Brennan. The home was decorated with palms and cut flowers a collation followed and guests presented gifts of cut glass and silver.

Dirt on Sidewalks During Sewer Laying Drags On

McEligot & Chenoweth contractor Michael C McKligot said sidewalk dirt from sewer excavations cannot be avoided. Protest by Franklin avenue business men and residents forced no changes. He claimed trolley tracks cannot hold dirt and cross trenches will begin, likely making the avenue impassable.

Local Motorist Bumps Other Car in Paterson

Harold Bross of Newark, formerly Natley, arraigned in Paterson on a motor vehicle violation after a collision on Market Street. John Matthews of Passaic, driving ahead, was rear ended as Bross tried to pass, sending Matthews car onto the curb and into a residence porch. A bicycle rider was nearby. The case will come up next Thursday.

Storm damages wires and poles disrupt town lights

A severe morning storm damaged many telephone and electric wires and felled two poles. Electric lights were off briefly and phones went out of order. Passaic office reported many outages but exact numbers were unavailable.

Centre Street Woman Charged With Intoxication

Local resident Margaret Wicks of Centre Street was charged with intoxication in Newark's First Precinct Court and released with a warning from Judge Mancusi Ungaro. She was found wandering with a two year old at Military Park and sent to City Hospital for treatment. Her child was placed with the New Jersey Aid and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

New Instructor for Boys at Park School Takes Post

Carl W. Barget of Delaware Water Gap will fill the vacancy created by R F Arnold’s resignation in the Park School eighth grade teaching post effective November 24. Barget trained at New York University and has been visiting Nutley this week. Arnold, a Princeton graduate from Perkiomen Seminary in Pennsburg, Pa., will move to Reading Pa to teach History at the Boys High School.
