Seven-Year-Old Boy Disappears Then Reappears in New York

A seven year old boy vanished from Church street Nutley on Thursday morning and after eluding police he turned up the next day at his father’s home in New York. Warren Howe had been boarding with Mr. and Mrs. Sargeant on Church street for health reasons. He carried five dollars to pay a bill when last seen and was later found wandering Nutley Passaic and Newark before arriving at his New York home.

A young woman on the 6 55 Erie train to New York on Monday morning slapped a man beside her and again as he stood. The man, a well known Prospect street resident, was accused of annoying her. The woman, a Nutley rider though not local, came from further up the line.

Fire at Blair residence causes minor damage

About $250 damage resulted from a fire that started in a second floor closet of Samuel E. Blair at 656 Centre Street Thursday morning. The closet adjoined the chimney and may have been the source. A garden hose helped control the flames before firefighters from Yantacaw and Avondale arrived.
