Budget Cut Lowers Election Tax Rate by Thirty Points
The Board of Commissioners adopted a tentative budget Monday night, $13 300 under last year and about 30 points lower than last year’s 2.17 tax rate. The reduction results from omitting interest and sinking fund charges totaling 16 600 last year. Schools seek $4 less, funds from seeds town reduction raise total, valuations unchanged. Money for interest and sinking fund remains from last year and more will come from bond sale premiums.

Week of petty police blotter cases in town

Curbing S Over Protest Passes by Town Board
The Board of Commissioners, despite objections from several residents, unanimously ordered curbing on both sides of Washington avenue from Big Tree to the Passaic county line. The county will lay the roadway awaiting town curbing completion. total cost about 106000 dollars with the town paying ten percent and owners covering about fifty cents per foot.
