New Southwestern School Plans With Sixteen Rooms
The Board of Education reveals a brick school at Harrison Street and Bloomfield Avenue, initially ten to twelve rooms with later expansion to sixteen. Architect Charles Granville Jones’ plan estimates current construction at about 33,000 dollars, with a total bond issue of 48,000 dollars approved by voters. The building will have separate entrances for boys and girls, eight classrooms, a principal and teachers’ room, play areas, a nurse’s room, and basement showers. a kindergarten with its own entrance and a large open fireplace.
