William Harris Funeral Rites Held for Riverroad Resident
Funeral services for William Harris 54, who died at his home on Riverroad, were conducted at his residence and at St Mary's Church. Burial followed at St Peter's Cemetery Belleville. Survived by two sisters Miss Mary Farris and Miss Hannah Harris and a brother Thomas Harris whose whereabouts are currently unknown. Harris had lived in Natley most of his life and suffered kidney trouble for a year before his death.

Beaten Man Refuses Prosecution After Cafe Row
Fred Martell of Bell Street Belleville was beaten with a chipped head and a deep eye cut after a Washington Avenue cafe incident. He refused to identify or press charges against his assailant, William Bailey of Newark, who admitted striking him. Martell was treated at the station by Dr. Edward P. Whelan. Chief Sutcliffe learned Bailey planned further violence if given the chance.
