Funeral services for Thomas Hannen 73 of Natley were held at his home and at Merry’s Church with a High Mass for the repose of his soul. Rev. William J. Cunningham officiated. A quartet led by Howard Pascal sang as burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Bloomfield. He was a Civil War veteran, Ireland born, who lived in Natley about 60 years and died Tuesday after a paralytic stroke two years earlier. Survived by his widow and five children Christina Hanien Francis McCabe Mrs William Hutman Henry J Hanien and George W Hanien all of Natley.
A busy week unfolds for Essex County suffragists led by Mrs. Arthur B. Prost. A 25-woman delegation will attend the Monday hearing on the Suffrage bill in Trenton. The Tuesday search party meets at Mrs. Carr’s home, and Friday a Montclair conference includes a three o clock State House demonstration featuring Mrs. Minnie J. Reynolds. Florence Leech debuts as state organizer at Unity Church in Montclair with speakers Gartior Ogden and Feickert.
Harry C. Decker of East Orange appointed assistant cashier to fill the vacancy left by Clifford C. Kaufmans resignation. He starts February 1 after years at West Side Trust Co. Newark. J. M. Walters of High street added to clerical staff to handle increased business at the bank.
Miss Taynie Kalvio of Passaic avenue a Nutley High School senior suffered acid burns after a bottle of nitric acid broke in the chemistry lab Thursday afternoon. She treated her hands with neutralizing salts and went home.
Twenty five women packed linen including table cloths sheets pillow cases and napkins for donation to Europe via the Vacation Relief Committee in New York. Mrs Alfred V Seaman Jr led the effort and a second packing session is planned for next Thursday as donations continue.
The Political Study class of the Womans' Club will study Child Labor at its Wednesday meeting at 3 o'clock in the clubhouse. Mrs L E Pratt is the leader.
County Superintendent Oliver Moretoc k spoke to Mecca High School stressing school spirit and student duty. He praised Natley students. Other visitors included Mrs Irlp P O Leary from Trenton supervisor of Girls Industrial and Vocational Training Miss Kate Krom Rahway elementary supervisor and Miss Elizabeth Kite Vineland Training School extension supervisor for sub normal children.

The Board of Education announces a public lecture Friday January 29 at 8 15 p m in the Park School auditorium by James A Cruikshank sportsman traveler photographer and lecturer of wide experience. The topic Hunting Wolves on Snowshoes will be illustrated with stereopticon slides and is a personal account previously shown to sportsmen clubs and general audiences in the United States and Canada. Children under sixteen must be accompanied and supervised by adults.

Joseph Grabriolé and Frank Bitacco were held in 1000 and 200 dollars bail respectively for Grand Jury action after a knife and fist fight with Frank Straccaro near Centre Street and Washington Avenue. Antone Corone was released on own recognizance as a witness. Grabriolé was found under a bed after the assault.
