Trial drama as father forces hearing in Avondale Station theft case
Eight youths arrested by Erie Railroad detectives face charges of breaking into Avondale Station on December 25 27 and 28 and tearing down notices. After a conference the Recorder dismissed the group but Michael Gorman father of one defendant demanded a hearing claiming his son was sick in bed that night. The case was sent to Newark amid hints of possible malicious prosecution. Head Wound From Falling Hatchet At Pole
Harry Shord of Public Service Corporation suffered a deep head gash Monday after a hatchet fell from a raised position and struck him near a Kingsland street residence. Fellow employee Edward Bergen was at the pole when the weapon dislodged, knocking Shord unconscious. He received eleven stitches and was expected to recover soon, with no danger reported.

Woman Injured in Severe Coasting Accident Near Dawn Hill
Mrs William Thurston of Franklin Avenue was removed to St Joseph's Hospital Paterson with a broken knee cap after a coasting accident near her home on Friday night. Several children were present. recovery could take months before she can walk again.
