Nutley diary lists visits of residents and former locals, campus lectures, church and lodge activities, plus plans for a tulip bazaar and Easter operetta. Notables include H. Whitfield moving to El Paso, Miss Williams to Passaic, and a Knights of Honor ball at Town Auditorium.
Coal prices cut by fifty cents per ton on Nut Stove and Egg sizes to spur early orders before any strike. The ad promises shipments weighed and free from slate with 2,000 pounds per ton, available at summer prices, and recommends Cannal coal for value.
The message advertises a home delivery service for pure ice during hot weather. A wagon will visit with a pastel card to arrange delivery to families, promising reliable cold ice for households.
The company promotes its lime cement brick lath and plaster as the best in the market urging customers not to waste money on inferior materials.
Funeral services were held for Otto Bluhm at his Whitford avenue home. Rev. Herbert D. Cone officiated with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Bluhm, 49, born in Blackheath England, had resided in Nutley for years and recently left the Nutley Board of Health. He died after health declines despite trying health resorts. He had been a candidate for Town Assessor last fall but did not win.
William J. Kinsley will address the Women's Public School Auxiliary and friends on Monday afternoon May 3 at the Kinsley residence on Prospect Street. The talk titled A Visit with Luther Burbank the Plant Wizard will recount meeting Burbank in San Francisco and touring his Santa Rosa home and grounds with photographs to be shown.
A duplicate bridge tournament was held at Nutley Field Club on Wednesday night directed by J J Brick of New York. Marshall J Root and Bruck won top score among east and west players while Lamb and Lahens won among north and south. Prizes included silver fern dishes for the ladies and copper cups for the gentlemen. Mr Bruck presented the bridge ping to the two ladies with highest scores Mrs Lamb and Mrs Grace Mattingly of Baltimore.
Subscribers to the winter dance series arranged by Mr and Mrs Alfred B Sturges will host a dance for the couple at the Fortnightly Club House on Friday night April 16. The committee in charge includes Mrs W M Weiant Mrs W G Gibson Mrs A R Carr and Mrs A H Merriam.

The meeting covered school site options, half year promotions, attendance notes, and library activity. The district census shows 1,400 children ages 4 to 18. The Miss Emma Buehler appointment and a Bronze Tablet fund update were also discussed.
The cornerstone of the Nutley Elm Street church was laid with Bishop Neely delivering the address. A time capsule of church documents and periodicals was sealed inside. Prominent clergymen attended, and the building aims to be usable in the fall with completion hoped by year end.
The Nutley Lodge Free and Accepted Masons will host its annual reception dance at Masonic Hall on Thursday evening April 15. A Newark string orchestra will provide music and Caterer Day of Newark will serve supper to the large fraternity gathering.
The Kempton Council Royal Arcanum plans a Monday evening session at the Masonic Hall. The lodge degree team expects several candidates to be initiated. Oracle Hewlings has organized a surprise debate as the feature of the evening, expected to amuse and engage attendees.
