Lombardi TV tribute fails as press agentry

CBS aired a one hour profile of Vince Lombardi that critics say was a promotional piece for the NFL. The program, produced with league involvement, felt like a one dimensional tribute rather than a rigorous study of a complex figure.

City Budget Proposals Highlight Annexation Water Costs

City officials weigh annexation with a plan to supply water and sewer to new areas. A two mile water line to a north tract would cost about 16 per running foot, with initial outlay needed before tap-ins recoup investment. Additional costs include stand pipe, package sewage plant, and extended lines. Fire and police staffing may rise. five new officers and four new firefighters are proposed. Capital improvements top 1.81 million, with tax revenue split for capital vs operating needs. Remaining costs for annexed facilities are undeterminable and tax funds could cover deficits in general and street funds.
