Mini-monorail crash at HemisFair68 kills 65-year-old woman

A small monorail train collided with its mate at HemisFair68 in San Antonio injuring 48 others while sending cars 15 feet onto pavement and a lagoon. The victim is a 65-year-old Missouri woman.

Huron County Fair closes with strong attendance reported

The Huron County Fair ended after a horse show with officials pleased by attendance and attractions. Rain early in the week held crowds down but late week crowds rose, with packed grandstands for the Lynn Anderson Show and Hurricane Hell Drivers. A machinery parade Saturday displayed over $1 million in farm equipment.

Boy Struck By Car Near Rule Street

A two year old boy, Richard Stephen Andrews, was struck by a car near his home on Rule Street. He remained in satisfactory condition at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital with a concussion and facial bruises. Driver Judith Fortney of Bellevue said she was braking when the boy appeared in front of the southbound vehicle. no charges were filed.
