In Dayton, Wright Patterson AFB disclosed a new polyurethane foam stuffed into fuel tanks. The material, once classified, dramatically reduces the risk of fires and explosions when a tank is struck or ruptures.
President Johnson will fly to Kansas City Missouri on Thursday to attend a meeting of the International Association of Police Chiefs. He is expected to depart from Andrews Air Force Base Maryland in the morning aboard the Presidential jet liner for about two and a half hours.
Toledo NAACP officials say a protest march will be held Sunday in response to the defeat of the open housing ordinance. The measure banning property selling and renting discrimination was approved by City Council last March and defeated by more than two to one at the polls Tuesday.

Firms list liquor connections, mass production work, mustang owners without a spouse, and India officers among disqualifiers. Congress probes rate making with studies and possible hearings.
Rioting whites angered by 17 days of open housing demonstrations hurled bricks and bottles at Negro motorists and police on Milwaukee’s South Side. Police used tear gas and fired shots in the air as clashes continued into today. Thirty two whites were reported involved.
Crowds packed the Huron County fairgrounds in Norwalk on a dry Wednesday with 1 800 ice cream cones sold by 8 30 p m. Officials called attendance a very good gate as judging began and 4-H events and animal shows continued amid clear skies.
Five days before the filing deadline no candidates have filed for Norwalk City Charter Commission. Ballot question asks shall a charter be formed. 15-member commission to be elected with a $1 filing fee. Write-in candidates allowed if candidates file, or members are chosen.
Pickets from The Huron Mutual Aid Society protest non union workers at Maxie Tire and Supply Co 83 Whittlesey Ave and at a rear addition by Janetta and Herner Monroeville. The Sandusky Building Trade Councils also picket the site. Attorney Jack Gallon says the groups aim to publicize non union wages and press for union scales. City officials say sidewalk picketing is allowed if no disturbance occurs.
Mrs Otto Perry reported a burglary at her South Norwalk Road home after returning from the Huron County Fair at 8 40 p m Wednesday. Entry was made through an unlocked window. $634 50 in cash and a $45 diamond brooch were stolen. Neighbors described a screen over the window and authorities believe the thief knew what they sought. The Perry residence sits between Ridge Road and Route 61.
Norwalk High School cheerleaders announce a new Pep Club called The Whole Granstand and will practice new and old cheers from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Friday before the season opener. The event is sponsored by Norwalk Boosters and the cheerleaders.
