Glenn Jordan to Keynote 1976 Democratic Convention

Democratic chairman Robert S. Strauss named Sen John Glenn and Rep Barbara Jordan as keynote speakers for the 1976 Democratic National Convention opening July 12 at Madison Square Garden New York Glenn the first U S astronaut to orbit Earth in 1962 and Jordan the first Black woman from the South in the House Strauss also urged Rep Corinne Lindy Boggs to be permanent convention chair.

Four-hour EHOVE talks yield little progress

A four hour negotiating session between EHOVE Joint Vocational School teachers and the board of education produced limited results. Superintendent J Creighton Christ reported the talks resumed at 9 am as the teachers strike entered its ninth day. Erie County Common Pleas Judge James Young ordered a minimum of four hours of negotiations.

A Winsow Line Thursday poll asks residents if public school athletic expenditures should be sharply decreased to cover a $13 000 projected deficit. Manson Follower Claims 3000-Name Death List

Sandra Good linked to an alleged death list targeting 3000 individuals as revenge on environmental polluters. She described the list as created by an International People s Court of Retribution while avoiding specifics on who is on it or how actions would unfold. Norwalk Oil Spill Kills 2245 Fish At Norwalk Creek

The state wildlife division reports 2245 fish killed by an oil spill from the Ohio Edison power plant in Norwalk Creek on Sept. 2. Officials will assess damage, compute the bill covering fish loss and ecosystem harm, and seek payment from the power company. Values range from 2 cents per minnow to 30 dollars for a 30 pound muskie.

Doctor Certain Help Is Available For Kidney Victim

An anonymous couple donated $65 to Grace Reeves who suffers kidney failure and cannot afford dialysis. Her physician says she refuses treatment despite urging from doctors at Norwalk and the Cleveland Clinic. Social Security help begins after three months on dialysis, a window she cannot meet. she remains $1,300 behind and untreated for two months while caring for two small children.
