4-H Program Is Grandstand Fare At Huron County Fair
The Huron County Junior Fair 4-H style revue and awards program will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in front of the grandstand at the fairgrounds. Special awards cover foods home furnishings child care and girls demonstrations. After the crowning of the Junior Fair King and Queen the style revue will announce clothing placings and awards.

MSU Students Tour Huron County Forestry Sites
Forty four Michigan State University students and two professors visited Huron County for a forestry-focused tour. They met with State Forester Jack Basinger and 4-H County Extension Agent Carlos Tucker at Ryerson Roe farm, then toured woodlots and Kaple Lumber Yard to learn about forest management, timber quality, and typical uses.

Ohio leads in farm economy with 11th place in crop output and 13th in livestock production. A Center for Business and Economic Research report at Ohio State University cites 1969 as a banner year with $1.2 billion in farm production last year and cash receipts up 7 percent for livestock products and 6 percent for crops in the first five months of this year.

Junior Fair Prepares Market Livestock Sale
Huron County Fairgrounds will host the junior fair market livestock weigh in with about 60 steers 125 hogs and 65 lambs expected to be sold at the Saturday morning sale Sept 13 at 10 o clock. G A Pickworth and R L Garner will seek top bids while sale clerks and bookkeepers are named and Gerald Beck leads the event. The Grand Champion Market Pig will be sold first and proceeds will support 4 H and FFA exhibitors.
