Baby Found On Church Steps Placed In Foster Home

A newborn girl found on a Collins church doorstep on Oct. 19 has been placed in a foster home. Mrs. Wayne Ward of the Huron County Welfare Department said she was discharged from the hospital last week and is in excellent condition. The law requires a two year waiting period before possible adoption if parental consent is unavailable. Probate Judge Russell T. Antrim will decide final placement. A birthdate has not been fixed and will follow the examining doctor’s recommendation.

Truck Burns On Pike On Ohio Turnpike Ramp

A semitrailer cab burned in a spectacular accident on the Ohio Turnpike ramp near the Sandusky Norwalk interchange. Driver James Hutchinson 40 of Plattsmouth Neb survived with satisfactory condition.
