Greiner to Receive Kidney Transplant by Christmas

Harry Greiner of Norwalk is set for a kidney transplant at the Cleveland Clinic with kidney removal planned this week and dialysis to continue until healing. China to Dispatch Delegation to UN General Assembly

Acting Chinese Foreign Minister Chi Peng-fei told the U N secretary general a delegation would attend the current General Assembly session. A UN spokesman said the cable did not set a date but said arrival would be in the near future. Diplomats expect arrival by November 4 with Chi possibly leading. earlier talk tied Chou En Lai to attendance after the General Assembly voted to seat the Peoples Republic of China and expel Nationalist China.

Norwalk Considers Salary Hikes After Haskins & Sells Report

Haskins Sells urged salary increases for Norwalk officials as council plans to adopt recommendations from their study. The report suggests raising the mayors pay to 475 dollars a month and the treasurer to 315, with other posts reevaluated. Some raises may require a new term.
