Couple seeks divorce over SSI and housing rules
Glenn and Carol Stephens, both in their 40s, say federal guidelines tying SSI benefits to income and housing subsidies force them toward divorce to preserve pride and housing. They fear losing aid if Glenn’s disability or Carol’s earnings alter their eligibility, while insisting their relationship remains strong.
