She had applied for a switchboard operator job. She asks if she could picture herself chasing cars on a motorcycle.

A Norwalk service station attendant was robbed at knife point by a man and boy after offering to take them to Berlin Heights. The car was taken and found later. David Brant and a 17 year old were arrested on multiple charges. The incident also prompted a statewide response as non union mines reopened amid miner threats and government orders for law and order.
Seven local patrolmen join five Huron County deputies and two Norwalk post Ohio State Patrol officers to maintain order in the strip mining area around New Philadelphia as non-union mines resume work. Chief Deputy Richard Andres Capt. John Warner Lt. Leslie Harper Sgt. Lloyd Smith Special Deputy John Gisclon traveled Sunday. Pts. Campbell and Flowers were dispatched this morning with the communications van and riot control gear.

Ohio legislators back from recess face a 1.8 billion dollar budget from a joint conference committee with a proposed graduated personal income tax from 0.5 to 4 percent. The Senate aims to pass the compromise bill after caucus work while House action would follow. Provisions include a 4 percent corporate tax up to 15000 dollars and 7 percent beyond, property tax relief, and a severance tax on natural resources.
