Norwalk High School crowns Queen Becky Baxter and court for homecoming festivities. The two day events begin at Whitey Field with a 7 30 p m pre game ceremony and 8 p m kickoff. Coronation precedes the 8 p m homecoming dance at the high school auditorium. Court members are Nancy Smith Cindy Maxwell Evan Bowen and Fran Freeman. Contributions to the Norwalk Area United Fund total 48 453 58.

Norwalk residents heard an overview of the city master plan focusing on the zoning map. Planner Roger Pfeil of Ladislas Legoe and Associates outlined four maps and noted a 20 year growth forecast to about 19 000 residents. The informal hearing drew questions but no objections as officials sought public input before council submission. The plan classifies residential zones R-1 R-2 and R-3 and defines business zones B-2 B-3 with about 500 acres industrial, 65 percent vacant.

Decorations Drive Aims To Brighten Norwalk Christmas
A community fund raising drive was launched Tuesday to finance Christmas decorations in Norwalk with a $3,000 minimum goal and hopes to raise more. Chamber of Commerce President John G Kaiser says they have already collected 3120 and are inviting professionals and industries to join in funding. Committee members include Dudley A White chair Charles Peckham Sr Edward S Rubinow Don Ebert W D Conway and Kaiser. City Service Director Morley Price and Pat Furlong of the Junior Chamber assist. the Santa Claus house staff will be provided by the JCs. Hoover Returns To Capitol For Final Homage
Hoover’s coffin was moved from St Bartholomew’s Church to Penn Station for the trip to Washington. Crowds watched as the funeral train carried the 31st president to the Capitol Rotunda for brief services and a wreath laying. The body lies in state until Sunday before interment in West Branch Iowa.

Union Seeks Dissolution of Temporary Injunction in Huron County
Union Local 986 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers filed a motion in Huron County Common Pleas Court seeking dissolution of a temporary injunction against Northern Ohio Telephone Co.
