Ohio state auditor Roger Cloud will headline the Huron County McKinley Club banquet at 6:30 pm on November 3 at Norwalk Junior High School. Attorney General William B. Saxbe will be toastmaster for the club’s 59th annual banquet.
Two anti war demonstrators flung plastic bags of red and green paint onto President Johnson s bubbletop limousine and on Secret Service agents in Melbourne Australia as about 700000 supporters cheered. No injuries reported though some agents were splattered and one youth narrowly avoided the wheels.

E W Jonas district manager Northern Ohio Telephone reports a transmission line being pulled across State Route 299 north of Milan slackened and broke the telephone cable after a train hit the line. The disruption affected most long distance routes between Huron and Norwalk. Crews worked overnight to restore service. fifty nine feet of cable were replaced.
