Temperatures stay near normal with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s and lows mid 40s to low 50s. Warm Tuesday and Wednesday give way to a sharp Thursday chill and continued cold through the week with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.

Grain Merchants faced multiple suits filed by Union Bank and Savings Co. over financial problems. president John Seaman and his ex wife Carol are named in suits. Grain Merchants processed coated bird feed before closing last year.
Hanoi spokesman Nguyen Thanh Le accused President Johnson of aggression as Paris talks hit their sixth month. He demanded an unconditional bombing halt and rejected mutual deescalation, calling for full peace talks despite the deadlock. The May start of preliminary talks was noted.
A desk at Dick's Sunoco Station was broken into during the night and $1,000 was stolen. Owner Dick McCoy found the burglary when opening at 5:40 am. money was placed by attendant Roy Whitehead of Berlin Heights. A window was shattered and a desk key used.
Humphrey campaign aide Lawrence F. O'Brien says Nixon may strike a private deal with third candidate George C. Wallace to prevent a House decision. He argues Nixon avoids a three way debate to keep options open for an Electoral College arrangement. Humphrey resumes effort with Evansville speech and a national tour through St Louis New York Detroit and Connecticut.
Apollo 7 crew Donn Eisele Walter Schirra and Walt Cunningham gave a live in orbit TV show from their 11 day shakedown. The crew waved held signs kept viewers informed as the camera captured clear views of the astronauts in space over the southern United States on the 4th day of flight.
