Norwalk Board Examines Jewish Attendance Award Issue
A Norwalk mother told the city board of education that attendance awards penalize Jewish children who must miss two days yearly for religious observances. The matter, considered non-routine, prompted calls for administrative review and possible policy change. The board also accepted a teacher’s resignation and named substitutes and new hires. EHOVE enrollment and post school employment data were presented, with millage renewals discussed for upcoming ballot measures.
