Reports indicate Lord Harlech, once Britain's ambassador to Washington and elder statesman of the Cecil lineage, is a serious suitor to Mrs Kennedy. Nancy Tuckerman denied any romance, while Harlech avoided comment in Norfolk.
Gil Hodges, former Dodgers slugger, leaves his AL managerial job to sign a three year contract with the New York Mets. He replaces the Washington Senators position vacated when Wes Wes trum quit. Hodges is 43 and had been a first baseman.
House members prepare to approve a $2.6 billion three stage raise for about two million federal workers over 18 months funded partly by higher postal rates. The debate centers on size of the increase and the related fiscal plan.
Washington UPI reports Charles E. Bennett, polio victim and longtime congressman, kept a private promise to attend every House roll call. After 16 years 4 months and 5 days of perfect attendance, he holds the longest unbroken voting record in Congress.

Three Norwalk High School students one boy and two girls apologized to the board of education for spraying paint on the high school building on Aug. 25. The youths expressed remorse and urged fair judgments of students’ actions. a board member replied with caution about judging others, while other students emphasized responsibility and respect for property. The Norwalk Grassroots anti poverty group will meet at the Norwalk Recreation Center at 7 p.m. Thursday for a general discussion.
Willie E. Robinson 43 of Oberlin pleaded innocent in Huron County Common Pleas Court on a charge of attempted defraud Bond set at 2000 property or 4000 cash He was arrested by Norwalk police for a $325 bad check cashed at Schild's IGA last Friday.
Leroy M. Eisenhauer of 100 Kilbourne St Bellevue files in Huron County Common Pleas a $175000 suit against John A. Martin of 226 Green St Bellevue over a October 23 1965 collision at Prairie Road and Route 20. Eisenhauer claims Martin drove south while he drove west and was negligent.
Norwalk physician Dr. N. M. Camardese demands Huron County Welfare Director George Lawrence stop telling patients not to pay doctors. He threatens legal action, saying such policies discourage responsibility and breach doctor patient relations. Lawrence explains state policy covers up to 60 percent of doctor bills.
Norwalk school officials admitted Tuesday that too many students stood on two Benedict to Bronson School buses. On the return trip in the afternoon the issue was corrected, with Kramer citing driver seating reminders. A parent raised safety concerns about crowded buses and standing children during the morning run.
