Car hits U turn truck in Sandusky kills two

In Sandusky Ohio two people were killed and two seriously injured when a car struck a semi truck making a U turn on Ohio 53 three miles north of Fremont. Victims were William J. Slauterbeck 28 of Port Clinton and Claudio Contreras 45 of Clyde. The driver Crispen Ortiz 21 and Benny Contreras 17 both of Clyde were hospitalized in critical condition. The truck driver injured none. No citation issued.

Funeral Held For Hippies Freebies Arise

San Francisco hippies stage a three day wake atop Buena Vista Hill to mark the end of their movement. A 22 foot casket is paraded down Haight Street with beads money and draft cards tossed inside. The event ends as firemen extinguish embers from the burning casket.

Boy With Match Blamed For Fire On East Main Street

A three year old boy playing with matches caused a fire at 144 East Main Street Norwalk apartment building owned by Randy Herner. Firemen arrived at 1 32 p m to find a closet blaze in the upstairs Anthony Leroux apartment with smoke throughout the structure. Estimated losses total 500 with 300 on the building and 200 on contents.

Mekong Delta clash leaves nearly 100 Viet Cong dead

In the Mekong Delta southwest of Saigon American infantry units from the 9th Division fought the Viet Cong for over eight hours. U S officials counted 73 Viet Cong bodies with commanders estimating at least 100 killed. Three Americans died and 23 were wounded.

Two Girls Injured in Area Intersection Crash

Two girls, 19 and 20, were seriously injured in an early morning crash at the U S routes 224 and 250 intersection when their car hit the rear of a tractor trailer. Norwalk High Boosters to Screen Friday Football Game

The check by Tony Holland and signed by H A Hart of H A Hart Construction Co Elyria came from an Oberlin Lorain County Savings and Trust Co address that does not exist.
