Ohio seeks to fund bonds via new excise tax brackets and grants
The measure outlines brackets for excise taxes starting July 1 1976 with rules if a law is not in force by May 15 1976. Tax proceeds fund bond retirement and capital improvements, allocating seven tenths of one percent of state retail taxes to the excise levy. It preserves full faith and credit and allows subsidies to political subdivisions, with an amended final report to the General Assembly leading to tax cessation 30 days after report receipt.
