University of California regents barred Angela Davis from teaching on the Los Angeles campus next week defying faculty opinion. The action was expected to provoke strong reactions across UC nine campuses from faculty and students.
Warren family mourns Marine son killed in Vietnam in March 1966. A thief stole 130 photographs of Frank Esch from their suburban home while they attended church, leaving only memories. The parents urge return of the photos, saying there would be no questions if recovered.
At Miami-Dade Junior College coeds replace bras and blouses with hand painted silk scarves. They tie one scarf around the neck, drape it over the chest and knot the other end around the waist to expose the stomach and back.

In Hikone Japan Horoshi Matsumoto 47 drove an electric locomotive 442 miles along the Tokaido trunk line before realizing eight passenger coaches were missing.
