Lebanese Foil A Plot To Cop Secret Mirage Jet
A government spokesman said Lebanese police wounded two Russians and a disgraced Lebanese air force pilot in a gunbattle that foiled an attempt to steal a Mirage IIIE from France. Russian officials named were Alexander Khomiakov and Vadimir Vasilyev. pilot Hassan Badawi was also wounded.

Dogs Slaughter 15 Sheep on Area Farm
Fifteen head of sheep were killed early this morning at the Carl Kramer farm off Laylin Rd. Two dogs believed to be German shepherds were in the act when Kramer found them at the barn. The loss is estimated at 405 dollars and several animals were injured. Deputy Warden Clarence Rounds noted prior poultry raids and said the killers likely fled east. He urged reporting any German shepherds for veterinary treatment to induce vomiting.

Apollo 12 plans moon walk to retrieve Surveyor 3 parts
CAPE KENNEDY UPI The Apollo 12 crew may walk up to a half mile from their craft next month to recover four parts of the Surveyor 3 lunar robot from 1967 Mission commander Charles Pete Conrad Jr and Alan Bean rehearsed the excursion and he said a 50 50 chance of landing near the Surveyor.

Widow Threatens Self and Children Over Green Beret Case
The widow of the Green Beret murder victim asked the U S Embassy in Saigon for truth about her husband’s death. She threatened to kill her four year old son and infant daughter and herself if her demands are not met. She filed a protest with the South Vietnamese Justice Ministry and criticized U S officials for dropping charges against eight Green Berets.

Sixty Jurors Called For Murder Trial In Huron County
Sixty residents have been summoned for jury duty in the first degree murder trial of John W. Brown 42 Bellevue. Trial set to begin Oct 13 in Huron County Common Pleas Court. Brown pleads innocent to shooting death of William Famulare in a Bellevue apartment on April 25. Brown surrendered to Sheriff John Borgia two days later. Trial postponed twice while Brown was examined at Lima State Hospital and found competent to stand trial. Walter L. Butz of Bellevue was appointed to defend Brown. A list of juror names follows.
