Leon Riley Wins Waterline Project For Norwalk
The Norwalk Board of Control awarded Rainbow Contractors Inc owned by Leon Riley a 394875 dollar contract to construct a 16 inch waterline from the Huron River east branch to Memorial Lake. Seven pumping station bids were rejected after engineers found a 100000 dollar error and because all bids exceeded the estimate by more than ten percent. New pumping station bids will be readvertised. The board also awarded Morton Salt Co. the winter road salt contract at 16.20 per ton delivered piled 15.20 per ton delivered by truck and 12 per ton plant pickup. Board members were Mayor Wayne Goodsite Finance Director Vernis George and Council President Richard Cunningham.
