Berlin Bounces Four Incumbents

Berlin Heights voters ousted four incumbents in a sweeping election, including Mayor Myron Nichols who lost to Burt Oehling 176 to 102 after twenty years in office. The village clerk-treasurer and a BPA vacancy appointee were the only officials re elected, both unopposed.

Bedroom fire damages Robert Daughterty home in Milan Ave

Fire started in an upstairs bedroom caused about 500 dollars in damage to the 145 Milan Avenue residence Tuesday afternoon. A youngster who admitted playing with matches sparked the blaze. Mrs Daughtery alerted the city fire department at 4 15 p m and escaped with her four children. Volunteer firefighters assisted, removing a headboard as water drenched the bed area.
