Power Failure Hits Norwalk Telephones
A motor generator converter failed, cutting power to Norwalk telephone service this morning. The outage began at 9 30 as a generator drained, and Direct Distance Dialing was stopped to protect reserve power. Parts from Bellevue and Lorain were sent for repairs and locals could call only emergency lines while the city operated at half capacity until about 1 p.m.
