Clement Is Killed In Tennessee Car Crash
Former Tennessee governor Frank Clement died in a Tuesday night car collision in Nashville. The 49 year old, once a rising political figure who electrified the 1956 Democratic National Convention, was killed en route to his attorney’s home. The other driver, David F. Carlton of Nashville, was hospitalized in serious condition. Clement had three terms as governor and twice failed in U.S. Senate bids.
