Car Drives Under Semitrailer in Fitchville Crash
Bruce N. Sanders, 20, of Greenwich, was critically injured when his 1958 Chevrolet passed under a semitrailer at the Highway 162 Palmer Road intersection near Fitchville. Truck driver Frank A. Lair, 43, of Wilmington, Ill., was unhurt as the jackknifed trailer sustained minor damage and Sanders was trapped with head and neck injuries. The incident occurred about 7 10 p.m. and is under investigation by state patrol.

Car Theft Suspect Arrested After Manhunt Ends
Ronald Riffe of 1841 Fryen Street was captured asleep in a car near Western Reserve High School Wakeman by Huron County deputies after a monthlong search. Wanted for AWOL from Fort Dix New Jersey he previously escaped Fort Dix stockade and is held on charges of interstate auto theft pending formal charges.
