The North Star Council of Governments and the Huron County Sheriff's Department sponsor a three day riot control school led by 4Lt Vernon Walker and Lt William Grace of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. Lectures cover weapons chemical agents riot tactics gas masks laws and bombs with drills at the Conservation Lodge and a sniper drill at the Conservation Club grounds. About 25 officers are expected to attend.

Four 17 year old youths, two boys and two girls, were arrested Friday night on marijuana possession charges in the Blue Bridge area of rural Monroeville. Officers found them in a car along Lamereaux Road around 9 p.m. They were questioned and released to parents. Juvenile Court will hear their cases.
The parents of 14 year old David A. Smith sue PE teacher Richard Carpenter in Common Pleas Court for 76908 dollars alleging negligently ordered a gym exercise that left David with three missing front teeth after his shoelaces were tied. The suit seeks 25000 for David 50000 punitive damages and 2908 medical expenses.
