St Pauls hurdler Sue Missler, a 5-7, 115-pound senior from the Andrew Missler family, works alone at practice in Columbus weekend hopes to carry her school to the foreboard. Her best time is 15.2 seconds in Blade Relays, she says, having few defeats in Firelands Conference. She expects a rematch with Janet Dunne of Tinora.
Pfc William Mead of Ft Hood serves with the 1st Cavalry Division while his wife Sue at St Paul leads sprinting efforts for her school. Sue, a state competitor in 440 yards and mile relay, holds a school record 62.0, eyes Ohio Stadium prelims Friday and potential finals Saturday. Ohio Northern has offered an academic pharmacy scholarship, with focus on 3 p.m. Friday preliminary heat and 10 a.m. Saturday final if she advances.
Edison High School Boosters club hosts an all sports picnic on May 30 at 4 30 p m at the Edison Park shelter house. The event welcomes families and will be a pot luck with the boosters providing meat buns and drinks.
